We made it to HK Disney and despite the size of the park, spent a whole day there! We met up with some friends and schoolmates and enjoyed the short lines. There were a couple of showers in the afternoon though that didn't really put a damper on things since we could duck into an attraction. Maggie enjoyed Space Mountain most - and went ten times in a row with her buddies. Alex liked Orbitron and we also made the rounds to the other 'lands' as well as a couple of shows. One based on Lion King and the other a 3D movie called Mickey's Philharmagic. The Chinese food was better than the western food. Had popcorn, orange ice pops and a Mickey-shaped chocolate covered vanilla ice cream pop - like an Eskimo Pie. Nice fireworks to end the evening, say farewell to friends and start the summer.

Happy Father's Day! Alex woke Paul up in the morning with a card he made at school. Maggie was away, having spent the night at the hotel with the family that was previously staying with us! Stayed at home all morning watching some golf and other TV. Alex playing on the computer. The kids favorite site now is Club Penguin - an interactive penguin land where you can chat, play games, make friends, etc. We picked up Maggie at 3pm and headed off to HK Island for a burger and milkshake and after, a walk in the park. Went to play in the water fountain, look at the fish and turtles, played in the kids playground and looked at the birds in the aviary. Then back to the mall where we parked the car to buy some food for dinner - roast chicken, french bread and sushi rolls. Fixings for Caesar salad already at home. Guess I should think about what to pack for our trip. Only a few more days before we depart!

Whew, school is finished for the year! What a whirlwind week it was with all sorts of events for both kids. Combined with houseguests whose children also joined us at school a few days it was amazing how we all managed to get up, dress, eat and out of the house in time! Went to the public pool at Ma On Shan today with a bunch of Maggie's classmates. Tonight, Maggie had her last Mandarin class for the school year. Tomorrow we will have a buffet lunch with some of Alex's classmates after tap. 'Farewell for the summer' get togethers...

Our guests have moved to a hotel for the duration of their stay and Maggie will have a sleepover there tomorrow. Have reservations at Peking Garden tomorrow night for our two families. The kids want Peking duck! Tuesday we are planning to go to Disneyland. Wednesday is tap exams and climbing class. Thursday we are off to the airport. Looking forward to vacation.

Wed - Maggie went to climbing class today, Alex also practiced on another wall even thought he isn't enrolled in the class. Maybe in the fall he will join. Our favorite American restaurant: Dan Ryan's for dinner - Maggie is into Caesar salad now and we had buffalo wings and linguine with white clam sauce.

Another week left of school before summer vacation. What a week that will be! We have visitors arriving Saturday that we haven't seen in two years - Maggie's former best friend now living in Czech Republic. Looking forward to fun times together in between all the scheduled activities; among them, tap dance, birthday party, school party, school field trips (Ocean Park for Alex and ice skating for Maggie)... Gymnastics finished already as well as Maggie's two musical groups at school (Children's Choir and Jubilate).
